Rent our space!

Pocket Books aims to be a community meeting place as well as a retail space, and we would love for you to celebrate milestones here. We’re so thrilled that you’d like to spend your special day with us! We’re happy for you to reserve the shop for birthday parties, anniversaries, celebrations, local artist/author events,  or just private bookstore browsing time for you and/or your pals!

With our large wraparound porch and sizable lawn, not to mention our beautiful book rooms, we have plenty of space to accommodate the needs of a small group. We are very flexible and are happy to work with you to fit your needs.

To book an event, simply email events@pocketbooksshop.com with relevant info. We recommend booking your date at least one month in advance to ensure that your chosen date isn’t already taken!

Nuts & Bolts:

Our standard rate for an after-hours rental is $250, which includes 2 hours of party time and 30 minutes of set-up/30 minutes of clean-up time. Rentals are available Tuesday-Saturday after 7pm, Sunday after 5pm, or any time Monday.

Your rental also includes:

• Exclusive browsing time – you get the whole shop to yourself! A member of Team PB will greet you & help you settle in, then leave you to browse/celebrate in peace. We’ll return for the last 15 minutes of your event time to ring up any purchases. (We’re just a phone call away, though, in case of emergency!)

• Table & chairs for your dining comfort, if requested. We are also able to provide plates, cups, cutlery, and napkins.

• Carafe of water (plain or infused) + access to our coffee / tea station

• Access to a bluetooth speaker for all of your background music / dance party needs.

• Curated book display – we’ll put together some suggestion bundles for you and/or your guests based on your purchase history. Let us know what sort of book you love, and/or send us a link to your Storygraph or Goodreads account.

You are more than welcome to bring whatever you’d like for your party – order in food, bring in entertainment, put up decorations, etc. As long as there’s no damage done to our shelves or merchandise, we’re happy!

Want your party to be extra special but don’t want to fuss over details yourself? We can be your party planners! For a service fee of $50, we will coordinate catering, decorations, entertainment, flowers, etc., per your budget. You’ll receive an itemized invoice for everything purchased.
